According to reports Amazon wants to buy Boost mainly for its wholesale deal that would allow Amazon to have access to T-Mobile’s wireless network for at least six years, one of the sources told Reuters. Amazon would also be interested in any wireless spectrum that could be divested Reuters report.

It was recently reported that the Department of Justice wants a 4th major phone company if it would approve a T-Mobile Sprint merger. An Amazon run phone service could be that 4th competitor the Department of Justice is looking for. According to reports, the Department of Justice is close to announcing a deal to approve the T-Mobile and Sprint merger. If that is true we may soon also learn about Amazon or DISH buying Boost Mobile.
