One of the biggest selling points for the Fire TV Cube is hands free control. With the Fire TV Cube, there is a built-in Echo that allows you to control your Fire TV without the need to touch your remote.

Now Amazon has added voice control support for 3rd party apps like Netflix. This was first reported by AFTVnews.com who points out you can do things like ask the Fire TV to scroll right, left, up, down, and select things. Well for some this may seem slow and painful, but incredibly helpful for many who have physical disabilities. (It’s also nice if you lost the Fire TV remote.)

According to AFTVnews.com, right now 17 apps support this new feature including ABC, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, The CW, CW Seed, DramaFever, ESPN, FilmStruck, FOX Now, FXNow, Hallmark Movies Now, HBO Go, HBO Now, Hulu, Netflix, Red Bull TV, and Tubi TV. Hopefully, Amazon continues to roll out support for voice controls to more apps soon.
