Yesterday, ABC released a new version of their Watch ABC app on iOS and Apple TV. Now, not only will you get access to current seasons of shows but also a huge lineup of throwback series and even new content made just for the Watch ABC app.
“Fans on Apple devices will benefit from a dynamic new interface that makes it easier to find shows. All of this allows us to expand beyond the bounds of our linear schedule and extend ABC storytelling to viewers across screens and platforms,” said Karin Gilford the SVP of digital media for ABC.
ABC has long been cord cutter friendly by offering the last few episodes to cord cutters through their Watch ABC app if you are willing to wait a week to watch them. Now, not only will you still have access to shows a week after they air but old seasons of shows such as “Ugly Betty” and even live daytime shows such as “Ellen” have been added.
ABC did add that exclusive programming events will be included in the app, but they gave no details.
Currently no timeline has been announced to update the Watch ABC apps on Android, Roku, and Fire TV. One would expect a new update to be added soon or at least the content to be added shortly.
