If you are a Roku TV owner, you may have noticed you can’t access your antenna right now through the Roku guide. For some reason, Roku is no longer showing channels from your antenna on the TV, and there seems to be no workaround to access free TV through an antenna on your Roku TV. This was first spotted by some of our readers and confirmed by Cord Cutters News in our tech lab.
This issue seemed to have started around 3 pm Eastern and has been ongoing now for almost two hours.
One of the best features of Roku TVs is a free channel guide that shows both your antenna and streaming channels for free in a live guide. Right now, that guide only shows streaming channels and Roku TV owners cannot access free channels from their antenna. Sadly for Roku TV owners, this glitch means no free TV with an antenna. You could use something like an HDHomeRun or a Tablo DVR to stream your antenna to your TV, but hopefully, this glitch will be fixed before that is needed.
Update: Roku has confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix.
Update #2: A possible temporary fix has been found. Some readers are reporting that if you go into the settings on your TV and turn off the streaming channels in your guide, your antenna channels will return.
Here is how Roku says you can hide the streaming TV channels on your OTA TV guide:
- Press the Home button on your Roku TV remote.
- Scroll up or down and select Settings.
- Select TV inputs, followed by Live TV.
- Select Hide streaming TV channels.
- Check the box next to Hide all.
#Update #3 Some readers are now reporting that rescanning your antenna will bring your antenna channels back to your Roku guide.
For now, this seems to be a simple glitch that should be fixed soon. Cord Cutters News has reached out to Roku for comment and will update our story as we learn more.
