NBCUniversal Responds to Fubo Blackout

Just before the weekend, NBCUniversal channels went dark on Fubo as the two were unable to come to an agreement to renew their carriage deal.

Fubo shared the following statement immediately after the channels were dropped: “Fubo has been engaged in good faith negotiations with NBCU to renew our long-standing content agreement to distribute their networks to consumers. Fubo believes customers should have the option to choose among multiple distributors to access the content they love. Unfortunately, NBCU has offered terms regarding pricing and packaging that we believe are egregiously above those offered to other distributors our size. Additionally, NBCU will not allow Peacock ingested into the Fubo Channel Store despite that they have given this access to other channel stores. As a result, all NBCU networks have left Fubo as of 5pm ET on November 21, 2025.

An NBCUniversal spokesperson has now given the following statement to Cord Cutters News: “Fubo has chosen to drop NBCUniversal programming despite being offered the same terms agreed to by hundreds of other distributors. Unfortunately, this is par for the course for Fubo — they’ve dropped numerous networks in recent years at the expense of their customers, who continue to lose content.”

NBCUniversal also shared that it has offered Fubo fair rates and terms, which other distributors including Hulu + Live TV have already agreed to. Another example of NBCUniversal’s negotiations is the YouTube TV deal, which was finished just before the deadline, keeping the channels live without disruption.

However, Fubo says that NBCUniversal is demanding higher fees than other providers.

The blackout is affecting dozens of channels on the platform including NBC local affiliates, Telemundo, NBC Sports RSNs, American Crimes, Bravo, Bravo Vault, Caso Cerrado, CNBC, CNBC World, Cozi, Dateline 24/7, E! Entertainment Television, E! Keeping Up, Golf Channel, GolfPass, LX Home, Million Dollar Listing Vault, MSNBC, NBC NOW, NBC Sports NOW, NBC Universo, True CRMZ, New England Cable News, Noticias Telemundo Ahora, Oxygen True Crime, Oxygen True Crime Archives, Real Housewives Vault, SNL Vault, Telemundo Accion, Telemundo al Dia, The Golf Channel , Today All Day, Universal Movies, and USA Network.

Fubo says it will offer subscribers a $15 credit if the channels are blacked out for an extended period. In the meantime, subscribers can watch some NBCU content on Peacock. With a Premium Plus subscription, you’ll get a live feed of your local NBC station.
