Setting up your Roku TV

There are many advantages of Roku TV, like its smart features and Roku operating system (OS) that displays its familiar interface. As a smart TV, Roku TV connects to your Wi-Fi and is able to stream your apps without an additional streaming player. That means that you can stream your over-the-top (OTT) cable-alternatives and video-on-demand (VOD) streaming services from fuboTV to Disney+. Here’s what the setup process looks like.

  1. Unpack your Roku TV and fasten the TV to the provided base. A wall mount isn’t included, but if you have one, attach it to your wall and mount your TV.
  2. Plug your Roku TV into a power source. You’ll know if your TV is receiving power if the standby indicator light under the screen is lit.
  3. Power on your Roku TV with your Roku TV remote. Once powered on, the indicator light switches off before the TV screen flashes on with the prompted Guided Setup process. For an Audio Guide, select the asterisk on your Roku remote (*).
  4. The first screen prompts you to choose your language. With your remote, use the directional buttons to select your preferred language.
  5. Next, click the country from where you are watching your Roku TV.
  6. Choose Set up for home use
  7. Connect to the internet by selecting your wireless network. (Make sure to scan to view all available networks.)
  8. Allow your Roku TV to download the latest version of Roku OS software. Then, reboot.
  9. Add or create your Roku account with your email address and password.
  10. Next, connect your devices like Blu-ray player, game consoles, soundbar, and wireless speakers. You’ll be advised to designate a name and icon for each device.
  11. Repeat the step above until all of your devices are paired, and an All Done screen appears.

The final cut

Setting up your Roku TV is essentially a cakewalk. The Guided Setup process uses helpful prompts that walk you from screen to screen. Make sure to have all the devices you wish to hook up to your Roku TV handy, so you can synchronize them at the time of your setup. If not, that’s also okay. You have the ability to pair devices to your Roku TV at any time. In fact, Roku offers a cost-effective audio system. So, you may want to also consider getting a Roku Streambar or Roku Smart Soundbar and pairing it together with Roku Wireless Speakers and Roku Wireless Subwoofer for an enhanced audio experience.
