Twitch is a free Amazon-owned streaming service best known for their live streaming of video games. Recently Twitch has branched out to offer live coverage of other events, such as the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. They have even moved into a new streaming market of live eating. (Yup people watch other people eat dinner.)
Now Amazon Video plans to take their original show pilots and put them on Twitch to stream for free.
This was first reported on Twitter Mike Malone.
Amazon will debut its three new pilots for screening on Twitch for 24 hours, says Joe Lewis. #TCA16

So what exactly is Amazons plan? Twitch is a wildly popular streaming service for Amazon. By putting their new shows on Twitch they will give millions of subscribers who likely do not subscribe to Amazon an opportunity to check out what Amazon has to offer.
Amazon likely also sees the Twitch service as one more source to experiment with to see what will catch on.
This is not the first time Amazon has aired a show on Twitch. Recently they aired a marathon of Bob Ross Joy of Painting that drew 5.6 million viewers during the marathon.
Amazon and Twitch have not released any official statement at this time. We will update this story when we learn more.
