In today’s quarter 3 earnings call, Disney announced that Mulan will be going straight to Disney+ on September 4, along with premiering in theaters that have opened by that time. While the film will be available on the streaming platform, it won’t be included in the monthly subscription cost. It will be available on-demand for $29.99.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek said “in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, and number of countries, we will be offering on Disney+, the epic Mulan on a premiere access beginning Sept. 4, the price point being $29.99 in the U.S.”

The decision came after Disney repeatedly shifted the premiere dates of upcoming films due to the coronavirus pandemic.
