Roku has begun testing its upcoming Roku OS 15.3 update among developer beta partners, marking another step in the ongoing refinement of the platform that powers millions of streaming devices and televisions worldwide. The roTimeSpan component now offers methods that return total elapsed milliseconds and microseconds as LongInteger values from a marked starting point. The expanded numeric range accommodates longer durations or higher-precision timing needs that previously risked overflow with standard integers.

Image manipulation gains notable flexibility through updates to the roAnimatedImage interface. New functions allow developers to set a pretranslation offset, effectively defining a custom center point around which rotation and scaling operations occur. Rather than defaulting to the top-left corner of an image, creators can now rotate or scale around the true center or any other arbitrary point. Companion methods retrieve the current pretranslation coordinates, enabling precise control over animated graphics, spinners, or other dynamic visual assets.
