Today the OTA network Laff announced a deal with Disney that will give Laff access to Disney owned content including Home Improvement. This is a multi-year licensing agreement that will give Laff rights to air the Emmy-winning Home Improvement for free over the air.
“Laff is becoming the sitcom hall-of-fame. Home Improvement adds to an incredible collection of iconic comedies already driving network growth of 60% year-over-year,” commented Jonathan Katz, President and CEO of Katz Networks.
Laff offers comedy programming including That 70s Show, Drew Carey, Roseanne, Night Court, and more. Laff is owned by Katz Broadcasting a subsidiary of the E. W. Scripps Company. (Note this is not Scripps Network that Discovery recently purchased this is a different company with a similar name.)
This is not the first time Laff and Disney have worked together. Back in 2015 Disney and Laff struck a deal to give Laff access to Disney Movies. Now it looks like Disney wants to expand this deal with rights to Home Improvement.
Laff at last count as currently or will soon be available in 145 markets in 45 states including Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico. In total Laff reaches 86% of American Households.
