Sling TV has introduced a new Multiview feature that enables subscribers to watch up to four live sports or news channels simultaneously on a single screen. The rollout comes at a strategic time, aligning with the excitement surrounding major college basketball tournaments and setting the stage for upcoming MLB baseball seasons, NBA and NHL playoffs, as well as periods of intense breaking news coverage. Sling TV’s new Multiview option is very similar to YouTube TV’s, as Sling TV is building premade multiview channels for you to watch instead of letting you custom build them.
The Sling TV Multiview option assembles pre-selected collections of channels tailored to specific interests. For sports enthusiasts, one configuration might display prominent networks such as ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, and TBS, particularly valuable during high-stakes tournament matchups where multiple games unfold concurrently. News viewers can access groupings that include outlets like CNN, FOX News, and ABC News Live, allowing real-time monitoring of developing stories across different perspectives. These curated views appear directly on the Sling home screen or through simple searches for terms like Sports View, News View, or Multiview. Availability depends on the subscriber’s package, with options including Sling Orange, Sling Blue, the combined Orange plus Blue plan, or even shorter-term Day Passes for temporary access.
Operationally, the feature supports four simultaneous video streams displayed in a grid layout on compatible devices. Users navigate between the tiles using their remote control, with audio automatically channeling through the currently highlighted window, outlined in white for easy identification. Switching audio focus requires only a quick selection, maintaining an intuitive experience even amid fast-paced action. The collections draw from channels included in the active subscription, ensuring relevance to ongoing events without requiring manual assembly. However, the system does not permit custom channel selection within a Multiview session, nor does it support recording of the combined feeds, focusing instead on live, real-time consumption.
Here is what the new Multiview option on Sling TV looks like.

For now, only some devices are supported, including Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV, where users may need to perform a straightforward app update to unlock the capability. Certain hardware variations, such as the Fire Stick 4K Select running Vega OS, currently fall outside supported configurations. This targeted availability reflects Sling’s emphasis on optimizing performance for popular streaming hardware while prioritizing stability across the four-stream presentation. The service continues to operate within standard subscription limits for simultaneous device usage elsewhere, but Multiview consolidates multiple feeds into one viewing session on a single television or display.
Sling TV has positioned itself as a cost-effective alternative in the crowded live streaming market, and Multiview builds on that foundation by addressing a common pain point for sports and news consumers. The service offers tiered plans that allow customization, with sports-heavy packages emphasizing ESPN family channels and entertainment-focused ones incorporating broader selections. Recent introductions of flexible Day, Weekend, and Week Passes have further increased accessibility, letting viewers activate coverage only during peak interest periods without long-term commitments. Pricing remains competitive, starting from accessible monthly rates depending on the chosen base package.
By Sling TV enabling four-channel simultaneous viewing on supported platforms, the service enhances accessibility during peak programming periods and underscores its commitment to innovative, user-centered improvements in the competitive streaming arena. With college basketball already underway and more major events on the horizon, the feature arrives as a timely addition that could influence how audiences engage with live television moving forward.
