One of boxing’s biggest personalities and most-watched draws is returning to the ring, and Netflix is streaming the event. The streamer announced heavyweight star Tyson Fury’s return to the ring is set to headline a bout against Arslanbek Makhmudov, live on the platform.
The bout is set for April 11 and will take place live from the United Kingdom. The undercard and venue have yet to be announced, but Netflix subscribers can watch for no additional charge. The fight, promoted by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Sela, and The Ring, is the streamer’s first boxing event to take place in the country.
The upcoming blockbuster fight is the latest addition to Netflix’s fast-growing sports slate as it leans into live, appointment-viewing events. Netflix has already experimented with high-profile boxing events, including celebrity-driven bouts like Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua. The platform has aggressively expanded its WWE relationship, including locking down extended domestic rights to the company’s library. The partnership has led to 525 million hours of WWE programming watched on the platform as well as reducing subscriber churn.
Outside of the ring, Netflix is part of the new MLB rights landscape in 2026. As part of the streamer’s broader rights portfolio, it has added the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, MLB at Field of Dreams, an exclusive Opening Night game, and more baseball content. The MLB joins the NFL as one of the Big Four leagues that bring seasonal content to the platform. Plus, the streamer recently launched a voting feature for live events, giving users a more interactive way to consume content.
If you’re already a Netflix subscriber, Fury’s return is a reminder that major live events continue to join the streaming ecosystem. For as low as $7.99 per month, you can add Netflix to your streaming roation and enjoy the expanding sports arm, as well as thousands of movies, shows, originals and more all in one place.
