Roku has found a new way to bring original content and interactive elements to its platform. Today, Roku announced “Live from Roku City,” turning its Roku City screensaver into a stage for music, original storytelling, and interactive programming.

The first “Live from Roku City” event is a partnership with Demi Lovato, explaining the “DL” sign in Roku City that we reported on over the weekend. Roku users will be able to explore Roku City’s skyline and make their way to a stage where Lovato performs her single “Here All Night” from her new upcoming album, along with a cover of “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”

“I’m beyond excited to partner with Roku again to give the first taste of a live performance from my new music era. ‘It’s Not That Deep’ represents an electric energy I’m feeling about life right now, and I can’t wait to share that with everyone Live from Roku City,” said Demi Lovato.

Other interactive elements include behind-the-scenes videos, exclusive photos, Lovato’s personal streaming recommendations, and the ability to pre-save Lovato’s new album.

“With ‘Live from Roku City’ we’re doubling down on so much of what makes our platform special. Roku delivers TV’s broadest reach environment, and with the addition of original video storytelling for the first time in Roku City, we’re also providing TV’s biggest stage,” said Charlie Collier, President of Roku Media. “Demi Lovato is an artist who has thrived on authenticity and a steadfast dedication to her fans, and we’re showcasing both in the first of many new, creative, and unique ways artists can shine at scale on our platform.”
