Weigel Broadcasting Co. unveiled its latest venture, WEST – Western Entertainment Series Television, a new broadcast network dedicated entirely to classic Western television series. Set to launch on Monday, September 29, the network will debut in 46 television markets across the United States, covering 55.7% of the country. Viewers in 15 of the top 20 broadcast TV markets, including major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Phoenix, Detroit, and Orlando, will have access to WEST. The network will also be available on TDS cable systems and DISH channel 372, with additional carriage details to be announced. Information on where to watch WEST can be found at westtelevision.com.

WEST represents Weigel’s tenth over-the-air national broadcast television network, joining an established lineup that includes MeTV, MeTV Toons, Start TV, Heroes & Icons, Catchy Comedy, MeTV+, Story Television, Dabl, and MOVIES!. The network aims to carve out a unique space in the broadcasting landscape by offering a robust library of over 30 iconic Western TV series, showcasing some of the most beloved and enduring programs in television history. The lineup features legendary shows such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Maverick, Rawhide, The Wild Wild West, Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Virginian, Have Gun, Will Travel, The High Chaparral, Wagon Train, The Big Valley, Cheyenne, Bronco, Sugarfoot, Lancer, Daniel Boone, and Colt .45, among others.

The programming on WEST will highlight the timeless themes of the Western genre, including heroic sheriffs, daring gunslingers, principled idealists, and notorious outlaws, with gripping narratives centered on the eternal struggle between right and wrong. The network is designed to immerse viewers in the rich storytelling and rugged landscapes of classic TV Westerns, delivering an entertainment experience that celebrates the genre’s legacy. A standout feature of WEST is its commitment to presenting series in their original, unedited formats. For instance, The Virginian will air in its full-length version, preserving the integrity of the original episodes without cuts for time constraints.

WEST’s schedule is tailored to maximize viewer enjoyment. Weeknights will feature prime-time slots dedicated to the most prominent Western series, while weekends will offer extended blocks of fan-favorite shows, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in all-day Western marathons. This programming strategy aims to provide both casual viewers and dedicated fans with a reliable destination for high-quality Western content. With its extensive library and thoughtful curation, WEST seeks to honor the art of the TV Western, offering a nostalgic yet fresh viewing experience for audiences nationwide.
