In a move that’s sure to delight fans of classic crime dramas and procedural thrillers, Roku has added a brand-new free channel dedicated to the iconic Law & Order franchise. Dubbed the “Law and Order Channel,” this ad-supported offering is now live on The Roku Channel, accessible via Roku TVs, Roku players, and the Roku mobile app, under channel number 501.

The channel promises a 24/7 lineup of episodes from the beloved series, including the original Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU), and Law & Order: Organized Crime, alongside related spin-offs and specials. Viewers can expect marathon viewings of courtroom showdowns, gritty investigations, and the signature “dun-dun” sound effects that have defined the franchise since its debut in 1990.

This addition aligns with Roku’s ongoing strategy to bolster its free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service, The Roku Channel, which has seen rapid expansion throughout 2025. Just last month, Roku introduced 18 new channels, including true crime-focused options like Love Kills and Court TV Legendary Trials, catering to the surging demand for legal and investigative content. Earlier expansions in July and June brought in 17 and 13 channels, respectively, featuring partnerships with MGM and others, pushing the total lineup to more than 560 free live options. The platform now serves an estimated 145 million users across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the UK, solidifying its position as the largest FAST service in the market.

Fans of the Law & Order universe, which has produced over 1,000 episodes across its various iterations, will find the new channel particularly appealing amid the franchise’s continued popularity. Recent seasons of SVU and Organized Crime have drawn strong viewership on NBC and Peacock, but Roku’s free access point opens the door for cord-cutters to binge classics without additional costs.

To tune in, Roku users simply need to navigate to The Roku Channel on their device and select channel 501. No login is required, though creating a free Roku account unlocks personalized recommendations and watchlists. As with all content on The Roku Channel, episodes are supported by periodic ads, ensuring the service remains completely free.

This launch comes at a time when streaming services are increasingly competing in the FAST space, with Roku leading the charge by prioritizing diverse, no-cost programming. Whether you’re reliving iconic cases or discovering the series for the first time, the Law and Order Channel is now ready to deliver justice – one episode at a time.
