Fubo, the sports-centric streaming service, has introduced a new feature that automatically records sporting events for all subscribers, enhancing the viewing experience for sports fans. Back in 2024 Fubo started to roll out to all users, updated DVR settings to ensures that live games and related content are captured directly to subscribers’ Cloud DVR, allowing them to watch at their convenience. Additionally, Fubo has integrated its Team News feature into this automatic recording system, providing curated playlists of news clips, game recaps, previews, pundit analysis, interviews, and injury reports for favorite teams. While the feature is enabled by default, subscribers have the option to disable it if they prefer.

This feature first launched in 2024 is now being noticed by many who got Fubo for fall sports in 2025.

The automatic DVR feature records live sporting events across a wide range of leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, WNBA, NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball, college football, major soccer leagues like the English Premier League, Champions League, and Serie A, as well as Formula 1, golf, and tennis. This ensures that fans can stay up to date with their preferred sports and teams without needing to manually schedule recordings. Team News playlists, which compile relevant content for specific teams, are also automatically recorded, offering a convenient way to catch up on team-related updates between games.

Accessing this content is straightforward. On TV devices and web browsers, users can find Team News channels through the Sports screen, where a dedicated carousel displays available playlists. On mobile devices, circular icons on the homepage provide quick access to Team News. The feature is supported across all devices, ensuring a consistent experience whether users are streaming on a smart TV, computer, or smartphone.

Fubo’s Unlimited Cloud DVR generally allows subscribers to store recordings without strict limits, but some channel providers impose restrictions on how much content can be saved. If storage limits are reached, the system automatically deletes the oldest Team News recordings to make space for new ones, ensuring that the latest content remains available.

For subscribers who prefer not to have sporting events or Team News recorded automatically, Fubo offers a simple opt-out process. Users can navigate to the My Stuff page, locate the Sports News and Game Recordings folders, and select “Stop Recording” under Recording Options for each. They can then choose to delete all existing recordings. Once completed, Team News and automatic game recordings will no longer appear in the Fubo app.

Fubo subscribers can now enjoy seamless access to their favorite sports content while retaining the ability to customize their recording preferences.
