YouTube TV subscribers could soon lose their local Fox network and Fox owned channels from their streaming lineup if the companies can’t come to an agreement before their contract expires.
The contract between YouTube TV and Fox is set to expire on August 27, 2025 at 5 p.m. ET. If a deal isn’t reached before then, the following channels will go dark on the streaming service:
- BTN
- FOX
- FOX Business
- Fox Deportes
- FOX News
- FOX Soccer Plus
- FOX SOUL
- FOX Sports 1
- FOX Sports 1 4K
- FOX Sports 2
- FOX Weather
- KTVU Plus
- LiveNOW from FOX
Along with the channels from the regular lineup, the premium channel Fox Nation, as well as the 4K Plus, Sports Plus, Spanish Plus, and Fox Nation add ons will be affected.
The missing channels would be a blow to sports fans who would miss out on the MLB playoffs and the start of NFL and college football season.
In a blog post, YouTube TV said: “Our current agreement with Fox is approaching its renewal date and we are in active and ongoing negotiations to continue carrying their content. Fox is asking for payments that are far higher than what partners with comparable content offerings receive. Our priority is to reach a deal that reflects the value of their content and is fair for both sides without passing on additional costs to our subscribers.”
The company also said that if the channels are unavailable “for an extended period of time,” member will receive a $10 credit for the inconvenience.
If the channels do go dark, YouTube TV subscribers will be able to access all Fox content on the new Fox One app.
