In a major switch-up for fans of The Office franchise, The Paper, the long-teased spin-off that relaunches the beloved mockumentary world, is getting a full binge drop on Peacock next month. First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, all ten episodes of the upcoming series will drop at once on Thursday, September 4, instead of the staggered rollout over four weeks, which was originally planned.

Per the report, the pivot comes after the series has received praise from early reactions and lots of enthusiasm from audiences. The release change gives the Greg Daniels and Michael Koman co-created series a head start before the fall premiere season. Additionally, the mass release gives viewers an easy way to devour and follow the show from the season premiere to the finale.

Set in the world of The Office, The Paper brings a new documentary crew to Toledo as they chronicle the revival of a struggling local paper, The Truth Teller, under a new editorial team. The series stars Domhnall Gleeson alongside a fresh ensemble, and even features a familiar face from the Dunder Mifflin days, Oscar (Oscar Nuñez), who is returning as a regular in the new series.

The Peacock spin-off is executive produced by its two co-creators, Koman and Daniels, and Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas, and creators of The Office: Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

During its run on NBC from 2005 to 2013, The Office went from a modest network comedy to a cultural juggernaut through word of mouth and later streaming. For fans who miss the awkwardness of Michael Scott and Dwight’s escalating eccentricities, The Paper is a return to the universe that was, at one point, the most-streamed show in the United States

The original mockumentary series helped turn throwaway lines and camera stares into memes shared across the world. With next week’s spin-off binge release, Peacock is Ground Zero for devoted fans of the universe to gift GIFs in group chats, on social media, or spark virality that will turn into same-day water-cooler moments.
