Lifetime has eliminated positions in its unscripted team including VP of Programming and Development Nicole Vogel.

According to a report from Deadline, the layoffs impacted “the majority of its non-scripted team.” The small team was reportedly in the single digits. The remaining employee in unscripted is Brie Miranda Bryant, SVP of Original Programming.

The move shows that Lifetime is shifting focus back to what many viewers know the network for, its made for TV movies. Lifetime shared an announcement this summer about a “ripped from the headlines” slate of movies that will air on Saturdays in September. The network has also been releasing movies centered around “women finding their faith.”

However, there are still some unscripted shows in the lineup. Lifetime recently greenlit season 2 of Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out, with production beginning September 12. A Sorority Mom’s Guide to Rush! from VICE Studios premiered on August 11.

Lifetime also gave an airdate for The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, starring Todd and Julie Chrisley who were convicted of financial crimes in 2022 and pardoned by President Trump in May. The Chrisleys: Back to Reality will premiere as a two-night event on September 1 and 2 at 8/7c with two-hour blocks.

Brie Miranda Bryant and Nicole Vogel are both listed as executive producers for Lifetime for each of the shows.
