This NFL preseason matchup features two AFC franchises that will forever be intertwined. Once known as the Baltimore Colts, the Horseshoe returns to Charm City where it all began. The Colts are rolling out third-year QB Anthony Richardson as QB1 for tonight’s preseason opener. As the countdown to the regular season begins, Richardson will duel it out over the three-game preseason with former New York Giants QB Daniel Jones. The winner gets the top spot on the depth chart during Week 1.
For the Ravens, they will be without two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and former 2,000-yard rusher Derrick Henry. Ravens fans will get to witness exciting rookies and backup compete for a chance to make the roster or impress other teams for a spot.

From 1977 to 2001, the Seahawks and Raiders were one of the best rivalries in the old AFC West. The Raiders lead 30-26 all-time against their Pacific Northwest foes. Although tonight is only an NFL preseason contest, the Autumn Wind of the Raiders has blown two former Seahawks to Las Vegas. Longtime former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and former QB Geno Smith make their Silver & Black debut tonight. Even if the game doesn’t go down in the record books, a win in their Raiders debut against their former team would do wonders.
After having the best season of his career last season for the Minnesota Vikings, 2024 breakout QB Sam Darnold will not take the field in tonight’s game. The 28-year-old gunslinger signed a three-year, $100.5 million deal in the offseason after the Seahawks sent Geno Smith to Oakland. Seattle’s 12th Man will witness many backups who are hoping to make the team after first-year head coach Mike Macdonald stated his starters won’t be playing.

After years of resting their starters, head coach Zac Taylor and the Cincinnati Bengals organization are making a foundational change tonight. Star players like QB Joe Burrow, WR Ja’Marr Chase, and other big names will take the field in several series, according to their coach. However, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has kept it close to the vest about whether his stars, including QB Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, will be taking the field. With the risk of injury, don’t be surprised if both teams’ starters don’t play into the second quarter. As teams look to trim down to their 53-man roster, health is just as important as getting a good look at fringe roster players before next week’s NFL preseason slate,
