In a significant upgrade for cord-cutters and live TV enthusiasts, YouTube TV has introduced a groundbreaking “Always-On” multiview channel that streams local ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC networks side by side, 24/7. This new feature, recently rolled out to subscribers, is now accessible directly from the home screen of the YouTube TV app, offering a seamless way to keep up with local news, sports, and entertainment without flipping between channels. While the feature is currently exclusive to the YouTube TV app on smart TVs, streaming devices, and mobile platforms, it has not yet been integrated into the YouTube TV website, according to user reports.
The new multiview channel allows subscribers to watch up to four local broadcast networks simultaneously on a single screen, a move that caters to viewers who want to monitor multiple local stations at once—whether for breaking news, live sports, or primetime programming. This “Always-On” multiview, as described by YouTube TV, is designed to provide a curated, hassle-free experience, with the four major networks—ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC—preselected for continuous streaming. The feature is particularly significant for users in markets where local affiliates are a primary source of news and entertainment, ensuring they can stay connected to their community’s pulse without navigating multiple menus.
The rollout of this 24/7 multiview channel builds on YouTube TV’s ongoing enhancements to its multiview feature, which initially launched in 2023 to support sports fans during events like March Madness.
To access the new multiview channel, subscribers can open the YouTube TV app on their smart TV, streaming device (such as Roku or Apple TV), or mobile device and navigate to the Home tab, where the “Always-On” multiview option is prominently displayed. Users can highlight any of the four streams to switch audio or select a channel to view in full-screen mode using their remote’s directional pad. While the feature is currently limited to these preselected local networks, YouTube TV has hinted at plans to expand customizable multiview options to include additional channels in the future.
As YouTube TV continues to roll out this feature gradually, subscribers who don’t yet see the “Always-On” multiview are encouraged to check for app updates over the coming weeks. For now, this innovative feature is poised to transform how viewers engage with local programming, offering a dynamic, all-in-one viewing solution for staying informed and entertained
