Chicago Sports Network (CHSN), the new home for Chicago Bulls games, is expanding its reach beyond the Windy City. Starting October 1st, fans in West Michigan’s Greater Grand Rapids area will be able to access CHSN over the air on channel 3.4. (Rescanning of your antenna will be needed.)

Update: Only Chicago Bulls games will air in the West Michigian area because of contract issues ariing MLB and NHL games there. This marks a return of Chicago Bulls games to the Grand Rapids area.

This expansion brings live game coverage and other CHSN programming to a new audience of sports enthusiasts. Previously, fans in West Michigan did not have access to the old NBC Sports RSN unless they paid for a service like MLB.TV.

Now for the first time since many of these teams left WGN America can fans in West Michigan can watch live Bulls games for free with an antenna with out a paid streaming service.

CHSN’s Commitment to Accessibility

“Fan-first has been our north star,” said Jason Coyle, Chicago Sports Network president. “We are making our content available on the platforms that our fans can watch.”

This expansion reflects CHSN’s commitment to making its programming widely accessible. The network recognizes the importance of providing viewing options for those who rely on over-the-air antennas, including the estimated 600,000 homes in the Chicago area without pay-TV service.

Multi-Channel Strategy

In the Chicagoland region, CHSN will be available on two channels (62.2 and 62.3), allowing for simultaneous broadcasts of games when two teams are playing at the same time. This multi-channel approach ensures that fans don’t miss any of the action.

Streaming and Future Plans

CHSN is also available to DIRECTV, Fubo, and DIRECTV STREAM subscribers. The network has plans to expand to other streaming platforms and invest in advanced production offerings, including 4K-quality game broadcasts.
