One of the best kitchen TVs is Amazon’s Echo Show 15, which has a fire TV built-in. This device was an Amazon Echo smart display that could also be used as a TV when you wanted it with a built-in Fire TV. Sadly, if you don’t have one right now, the only way to get one from Amazon is to buy it refurbished.
This is the second time the Echo Show 15 has gone out of stock in the last few weeks, and this time, Amazon fully removed it from its website, raising many questions about its future.
Amazon has not removed the listing page for the Echo Show 15 with a Fire TV built-in but now shows it as no longer available, with no idea when or if it will be back in stock. All new versions of the Echo Show 15 have been removed from the Amazon search page, leaving only refurbished ones left. A quick search on Best Buy shows it is still for sale new but no longer offered in stores, only pick up or shipping with long delivery times.
This is very common when Amazon is getting ready to release a new version of a product, raising questions about what could be happening. Its not unusual for Amazon to announce new Fire TVs in late September or October.
Originally just sold as a smart display to help it attract more buyers Amazon later updated the device to act as a Fire TV and could be used with a Fire TV remote. This helped make it a TV that many saw as the best option for a small but powerful TV for locations like a kitchen. Sadly, it seems that Amazon has decided to discontinue sales of the device.
