Earlier today, we broke the news that DISH was raising the price of its satellite TV service. Customers are seeing price hikes as high as $8 a month that will start on September 19, 2024. This raised the question of what DISH would do with its streaming service, Sling TV. Would it also be raising its price?
Now, we can confirm from DISH that no Sling TV will not see a price hike right now as DISH customers are about to start paying more.
DISH has supplied Cord Cutters News this statement from a DISH Spokesperson:
At DISH, our commitment to delivering the best TV viewing experience at the best value remains unwavering. We continually invest in enhancing your service and technology to provide you with the entertainment you love. However, the cost of programming has been steadily increasing across the industry.
The fees we pay to programmers and local broadcasters for content are rising faster than any other costs, impacting not just traditional TV providers like DISH and our competitors, but also streaming services, who are all facing similar pressures and adjusting their prices.
Despite these challenges, our priority remains keeping your costs as low as possible while continuing to deliver the quality and variety of programming you expect from us.
Sling TV pricing remains the same.
Sling TV will remain starting at $40 a month for the foreseeable future.
