Fans of soccer watching matchIf you are looking for your regional Comcast Sports Network you will soon need to look for NBC Sports.

Last week NBCUniversal announced that it will be renaming Comcast Sports Net to NBC Sports Net. For example, CSN Chicago is now NBC Sports Chicago.

“We’re excited to complete the brand evolution of our remaining [regional sports networks], which will now include the iconic NBC Sports name on all of our networks,” said David Preschlack, president of NBC sports regional networks in New York. “This development is a reaffirmation of our continued commitment to provide the best, most compelling local sports coverage to our fans across the country.”

This change will affect all major streaming services including Sling TV, fuboTV, Hulu, PlayStation Vue, DIRECTV NOW, and others.

So next time you are looking for some NBC or MLB games keep in mind that you may need to be looking for a new channel name starting on October 2, 2017.

So far NBCUniversal has not laid out any other changes that will come to the networks, but Comcast has slowly been spending money to obtain more sports rights and improving its studio shows. Something we expect to continue into 2018.
