It seems that DIRECTV NOW has updated the list of apps they support this weekend. Now if you go to the websites of A&E, Lifetime, History, FYI, and Viceland you can now use your DIRECTV NOW login to access on demand content from their WEBSITES right now.
Update: It looks like the website is working if you use the links over on this Reddit post here but the apps as of right now are not. Likely to be updated soon.
Update #2: We now hear iPhone apps now work!

Remember: If you have AT&T wireless and do not want DIRECTV NOW streaming to count against your data cap (if you have one) you will need to use the DIRECTV NOW app. Using apps such as WatchESPN or BTN2GO (Big 10 Network) will count against any data usage.
Access to these apps often gives you access to even more on-demand content than you get from DIRECTV NOW. This makes these apps very popular with many cord cutters.
