95% of People Say Streaming Has Changed the Way They Watch TV

When it comes to the younger generations, streaming services are pretty important. How important? A recent study from Hulu revealed that it’s so important that 91% of them would either give up just about anything – including their favorite music streaming service, their social media accounts, their favorite food, their favorite piece of clothing, and their favorite brand before they gave up their favorite streaming service.

The only thing that generation wouldn’t give up for streaming (among the things posed in this study at least)? Their hair.

For this study, “Generation Stream” is the 90% of 13-to-54-year-olds in America who stream video content. And since most of this generation grew up with traditional TV, it still holds a presence.

47% of this demographic said they “stream most,” meaning they primarily stream, but still watch some traditional TV too. 37% considered themselves in the “stream only” category while 16% said they “stream also,” meaning they watch more traditional television but stream some too.

And just in case you’re wondering, 95% of people who responded to the survey said streaming has changed the way they watch television. How?

This study was conducted in the spring of this year with the Culture Co-op research group. A 25 minute online study was conducted with 2,500 respondents from the Gen Z, millennial, and Gen X generation.
