September has arrived and with the fall right around the corner and hoodie season approaching, this is the best time of the year to relax and stream popular shows and movies. Cord cutters interested in premium programming should look no further than Max. Formerly known as HBOMax, Max has cemented itself by the tagline “The One to Watch” as it offers content for everyone from dramas, to hit series, documentaries, and more, it may be hard to choose what to stream.

Here at Cord Cutters News, we’ve compiled a list of 5 things you must watch on Max in September.

BS High

The documentary covers the fallout from one of the biggest scandals in the world of high school sports. In 2021, Biscop Sycamore High School had the country talking when they made their debut on ESPN in a football game against IMG Academy. Bishop Sycamore would go on to lose 58-0 in a blowout that had social media talking and ESPN commentators pondering how they made it on the network. It turned out that Bishop Sycamore was a fake school, and BS High documents what happened behind the scenes to create one of the most unbelievable controversies that we’ve ever seen.

Telemarketers

True crime lovers will be instantly hooked on the documentary series Telemarketers. The three-part series follows two telemarketers who find out what’s really going on behind the work that they’ve been doing. If you’re a fan of secrecy, deceit, and exposing the truth in an industry that many people find annoying due to spam calls then this is a must-watch.

Friday the 13th Series

Halloween is right around the corner and everyone’s favorite machete-wielding-hocky-mask-wearing slasher has arrived on Max. None other than Jason Vorhees and 8 films from Friday the 13th film series will be available to stream throughout September. All of the 80’s classic films available on Max: Friday the 13th (1980), Friday the 13th Part II (1981), Friday the 13th Part III (1982), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985), Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986), Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988), and Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989).

Megan Thee Stallion vs Tory Lanez: Five Shots, season 1 (2023)

The summer of 2020 was a controversial time for rappers Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez. The pair had an incident where Megan was shot in both feet. She stated she was shot twice as she walked away from him, however, Lanez claimed his innocence. The documentary series will delve into what happened on the night of July 15, 2020, and the fallout after. Recently, Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting, however, he’s trying to appeal it later this month. Will there be a season 2? Stay tuned.

Carrie

Stephen King has become synonymous with horror due to his novels being adapted to many films over the years with varying success. One of his most iconic novels turned films is the 1974 classic Carrie. Set in Chamberlain, Maine, the most well-known and arguably best adaptation of the horror novel is the 1976 film. Sissy Spacek stars as Carrie White, a 16-year-old girl who is bullied and mocked by her peers, but she ends up having the last laugh in the critically and commercially successful film. Not only can fans of the series watch the ’76 version, but Max will also be streaming the 2013 adaptation that stars Chloë Grace Moretz as the titular character. Compared to the elder version, 2013’s Carrie wasn’t as well received, but you can stream them both to judge for yourself.
