The 2023 NBA Playoffs are underway and two of California’s finest are competing in the first round. The defending champion Golden State Warriors are taking on the Sacramento Kings in a battle between Pacific Division foes.

Stephen Curry and the 44-38 Warriors secured the 6th seed in the Western Conference even with an 11-30 record on the road. The Warriors have the fewest road wins of any team to qualify for the playoffs. However, of the teams to qualify for the postseason, their core of Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and head coach Steve Kerr is the most accomplished core of a single organization to qualify for the postseason. They’ll have to use their championship pedigree if they want to upset the Kings by ending their reign in the first round.

The Kings won the Pacific Division with a 48-34 record and secured the 3rd seed in the Western Conference. Sac-town hadn’t made the playoffs since 2006 before becoming one of the best teams in the Association this season. The last time the Kings won a series in the postseason was in 2004. Their current roster doesn’t have a lot of deep playoff experience with no player ever playing in a Finals. They won the first game of the series and they’ll look to shock many if they can take out the defending champions.

For those that won’t be in California to watch the Kings-Warriors duel it out during the 2023 NBA Playoffs, you can find out how to watch the series live without cable, below.
