BBC America needs to develop a Fire tv app

I tried Sling for a month and checked out BBC America. It had mostly crap shows that were broadcast one episode after another on a 12-24 hour feed. Certainly would not pay for it as a stand alone app.

I think most people get it to watch star trek marathons as well as Dr Who, Orphan Black, and other BBC originals, and Top Gear of course.

      • The main thing is to watch new episodes of BBC shows before they come to Amazon Prime or Acorn. Previous seasons/series of those shows are available for streaming are usually available from one or the other. And Star Trek is available not just on Amazon Prime but Netflix and CBS All Access as well.

Another issue is that BBC seasons/series are typically much shorter than the 20+ episodes of American TV, so BBC America shows reruns a lot of the time.

yeah, in a given year something like 85-90% of the programming on that channel is Star Trek reruns and I already have ALL the Trek’s so it’s pretty pointless channel in my book.

Sling was a good premise, but badly executed, DirecTV Now has the actual channel, so it’s not just a stream of the shows they have a license to.
