TCLtv+, the streaming service from electronics giant TCL, has announced a significant expansion into original content with the introduction of TCLtv+ Studios. This new venture is TCLtv+’s first foray into in-house production, taking a major step in content creation.
Located in both New York and Los Angeles, TCLtv+ Studios is set to revolutionize the streaming landscape by merging advanced AI technology with traditional storytelling. The studio’s inaugural project, an AI-generated romance film titled “Next Stop Paris,” showcases TCLtv+’s hybrid approach The film, featuring professional voice actors and an original script, utilizes the latest in AI animation to offer a fresh take on romance narratives.
“Next Stop Paris” tells the story of a young woman who, despite being jilted at her own wedding, still embarks on her honeymoon to Paris alone. On her journey, she meets a mysterious stranger, setting the stage for a romantic exploration of love and self-discovery against the backdrop of the City of Lights. This narrative is brought to life by a diverse global production team from the US, Canada, UK, and Poland, leveraging technology to enhance storytelling through high-quality animation and design.
At the forefront of the project are TCLtv+’s Chief Content Officer Chris Regina and Chief Creative Officer Daniel Smith, both of whom bring extensive experience in program development from previous roles in major media companies and Hollywood studios. Under the guidance of Haohong Wang, General Manager at TCL Research America, the studio seeks to pioneer new formats and storytelling techniques that bridge technology with narrative content.
“Next Stop Paris” is just the beginning of TCLtv+’s journey into original productions. With plans to explore various genres and collaborate with notable guild writers, actors, and Hollywood talent, TCLtv+ Studios is poised to become a key player in the evolving media landscape. The film is set to debut this summer on the TCLtv+ streaming app, with a trailer now available online.
