I got a free Roku Premiere. Either they shipped the wrong product or they ran out of Roku Sticks. I’m not complaining! lol

I’ve been trying to get the status of my free device and am becoming more convinced that they aren’t really shipping any. This is the second “Roku promotion” I’ve bit on from Sling and I’ve yet to receive a device. The first order was on the “prepay 3 months” deal back in late August. Got nothing but a run around. Tried again just so I could watch the post season football bowl games. Streaming service has not improved, customer service is below the incredibly low bar set by DiSH Network, Sling’s parent. I think Sling deserves to fail.

Yeah just like a few other comments here, When I first started Sling they were running pay one month in advance get a free Roku Express deal, that was one of the impetus’ for me to cut the cord, I already had a Firebox but wanted to see how the other half lived. So I paid in advance and I know these things usually take 4-6 weeks to fulfill so I waited and after I while I never got so much as a peep from them. So I contacted support and they wrote back even though I fulfilled my side and paid while the promotion was still in effect that now the promotion had changed and that to read the fine print that they had the right to change the promotion and that i was not going to receive one, but that if I wanted I could cancel my subscription give them another 2 months in advance and then I would receive the device. Suffice to say I was pretty pissed off about getting bait and switched just like any other cable company would do, but I already had sent my Satellite stuff back and DirecTV service was still pear shaped. So I gritted my teeth but at the beginning of the month lots of websites like this have been reporting DirecTV has gotten its act mostly together and Hulu beta coming which I signed up for so I am hoping i get picked, I canceled them, today is actually my last day with them. I plan on trying DirecTV next and any other service that becomes available, that thing really turned me off to them and I tell people who ask me about cordcutting that story and to be weary of Sling and their deals even though the service has gotten miles better since I first signed on even though the UI is still pretty bad
