A source close to the new Roku has informed Cord Cutters News that the new Roku box will have 2GB of RAM, which is almost four times the RAM current Roku 3s have.

We also believe the new Rokus will come with a software update that will bring the much desired sleep timer to the Roku boxes. This information comes from an Ask Me Anything (AMA) we hosted with Anthony Wood the creator of the Roku earlier this year.

During the AMA Anthony responded to a question about a sleep timer by saying. “Wow, I can’t believe this is the first question! We have that feature on Roku TV and it’s a very popular feature. It’s a great idea to add it to our players and sticks.”

Since the software is already programmed into the Roku TVs we would be surprised if the new Roku boxes does not support a sleep timer that will stop any stream after a set time.

As more details leak we will post them, and we will have full coverage as soon as the new Roku boxes are announced.
