“For Prophet” follows Damon Fisher, played by Ben Marten of “Chicago Fire,” a struggling entrepreneur who encounters Archangel Raphael, portrayed by Valentina Garcia in her award-winning role from “Lessons in Chemistry.” Raphael reveals that Fisher has been divinely chosen to serve as a part-time prophet to save his declining hometown, beset by corruption and apathy.
The film depicts Fisher’s challenging journey as he battles both celestial and demonic forces, including a taunting cameraman visible only to him. These trials threaten his business, marriage, and mental health, testing his faith and perseverance.
Directed, written, and produced by Mark Stewart Iverson through MSI Films, “For Prophet” is described by Iverson as a heartfelt project designed to inspire laughter and introspection about life’s spiritual battles. “I wanted to create a movie that would make people laugh, think, and gain a new perspective on the struggle of this life; how faith can play a real part in overcoming doubt and fear,” Iverson explained.
The film also stars Enrico Natale, T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh, Eddie Jemison, and features the late Bert Belasco in his final film role. Belasco’s performance, along with the ensemble cast, has been lauded for elevating the film’s heartfelt and comedic narrative.
