Last month it was reported that Disney+ would be getting a full overhaul and that 24/7 dedicated channels showed programs from Star Wars and Marvel, and more may soon be offered on Disney+. This all comes from a report from The Information. According to that report Disney+ is working on not just adding 24/7 channels but also adding ESPN’s new streaming service directly into the app next year.

Here is everything we know about the future overhaul of Disney+:

24/7 Channels:

Recently the popularity of 24/7 channels dedicated to a popular topic or show have become very popular. With these channels no longer do you need to decide what you want to watch of a show. Instead, you could just turn on a 24/7 of Star Wars and enjoy a stream of 24/7 Star Wars programs.

These channels have become very popular on services like The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, Tubi, and more. Pramount+ has tried to use some of them, and now Disney is about to do the same, according to this report.

Disney has not confirmed this move, but for some time now, the ABC app has offered 24/7 live channels of popular ABC programming for free through the app. Disney+ will likey continue to keep these channels locked behind a paywall. Content on these channels is also still available via on-demand if you are looking for a particular episode or season.

ESPN’s New Streaming Service Coming to Dinsey+:

Last year, Hulu was integrated into Disney+ for its on-demand catalog. Now, The Information is reporting that this new streaming service will also be built into Disney+ for an extra cost.

Reportedly, Disney wants to make Disney+ your one-stop location for all things streaming. So your kids can find their favorite Disney+ programs, Hulu content is available when you want something different, and ESPN is available to help you find your favorite sports programs.

It is unknown right now if this will include the new joint sports streaming venture that Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery are working on, but it is a possibility.

When Will This All Happen?

The exact launch date is unknown and could be months down the road. Yet, for now what we do know is that according to this report, we will likely be seeing some major updates

Why is Disney Doing This?

Increasingly media companies want to make their streaming services the main hub for everything you could want to watch. Warner Bros. Discovery is doing a simular push
