Well, this has been out there for a few weeks now and more have been noticing it. Hulu recently updated their help page with a link to download the Roku Beta Channel that will let Roku users access their live TV streaming service.
Here is what the Hulu FAQ says:
- Click this link and select Yes, add channel
- On your Roku device go to Settings > System > System Update > Check now
- The Hulu preview channel will then download and show up your channels list on your Roku
- Note: You can’t use live playback until Roku upgrades your firmware to 7.7 on your device.
WARNING: This is a BETA Channel and you may experience issues. I would suggest caution in using the new channel as beta apps are known to crash.
Now it is important to remember that you need the 7.7 Roku OS update on your Roku for this to work. That may have been the hold up on Hulu’s side for the roll out of their new Roku Channel. Yet now from my understanding most current Roku models and Roku TVs have been updated to 7.7. Older Roku’s may still be waiting for the 7.7 update to be rolled out.
