YouTube’s ‘Cobra Kai’ is Now Free For All to Watch

A few weeks ago Google announced that it is updating YouTube Premium its paid premium version of YouTube. As part of this change, YouTube Originals will now be free for all but Premium Members will get early access to YouTube Originals before they are posted for free online. Now today YouTube took the first step in making all YouTube Originals free by making the first season of Cobra Kai free on YouTube.

“Today, we are welcoming a global audience to enjoy our award-winning series and specials,” said YouTube’s chief business officer Robert Kyncl in a statement. “We see a tremendous opportunity to develop more region-specific content, particularly in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and will continue to partner with the biggest stars and creators in the world to share their stories and voices.”

“New YouTube Originals series, movies, and live events released after September 24, 2019 will be made available to non-members to watch for free, with ads. For series, members will get immediate access to every episode of a new season, while non-members will have to wait for each new episode to be released. In most cases, where available, Director’s cuts and bonus footage for YouTube Originals movies and live events will be exclusive to members like you, as well. Here are a few other changes made to YouTube Premium:

Updates to downloads on YouTube

Google also announced that they are adding a “recommended downloads” to the Library tab in the YouTube app so you can browse and download videos recommended just for you.

Changes to YouTube Music features

Your membership also continues to include uninterrupted access to YouTube Music (Android/iOS), where you can listen ad-free, offline, and with the screen off. We recently made the following feature changes:

•Switch between audio and video: With the tap of a button, switch between a song and the music video with no pauses or interruptions.
•Smart downloads: Automatically downloads up to 500 songs from your Liked Songs and other favorite playlists and albums. This is currently available for Android devices.
