YouTube Wants to Help You Customize Your Feed of Suggested Videos

One of the best and worst things about YouTube is its recommendations feed. Now, the video streaming giant wants you to help customize your own feed with content you actually want to watch.

To offer better recommendations, YouTube is asking viewers to give feedback on what videos they like. If you agree to give feedback, YouTube will ask you to select videos you like from a list and tell them why you like the videos.

YouTube then take that feedback will use it to better suggest videos on your home screen feed.

When Cord Cutters News saw this, the videos shown to us all came from accounts we did not subscribe to. All the videos were similar to videos we had watched or channels we subscribed to but nothing we had seen before.

Finding the right videos to suggest—no matter the service—has always been difficult. Now it seems YouTube is turning to more of a human approach by giving you an opportunity to help train YouTube to suggest videos you enjoy.

In the long run, this feedback will help train YouTube to recommend more videos with better accuracy to each subscriber that gives feedback.
