YouTube TV’s Updated User Interface is Now on Android TV

Back in May YouTube TV started to test an updated user interface with a larger preview screen and more channel suggestions.  Google’s YouTube TV team confirmed that this feature is being tested as part of a “phased launch experiment.” A few weeks later the tests stopped and the old preview screen and channel suggestions returned. Last week the updated YouTube TV user interface started to roll out on Roku players and Roku TVs. Today that new User Interface is now being added to Android TV and has been confirmed on our Nvidia Shield.

With this new YouTube TV preview window, the preview image is double the size of the old one, making it far easier to fast-forward and find the exact spot in the show you are looking for.

Google has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that this updated user interface will roll out to all living room devices in the coming weeks. During the May test Xbox also received the update but so far no reports of it rolling out on Xbox as of today.
