YouTube TV’s New Cheaper Plans Are Now Available to Everyone

After a gradual rollout that left some subscribers waiting, YouTube TV has made its full lineup of new, more affordable subscription plans available to all customers — both new and existing. The move marks one of the most significant changes to the streaming service since its launch, finally giving viewers the ability to pay only for the types of channels they actually watch.

The new options began rolling out in February 2026 and are now live, giving subscribers and potential new customers the ability to pay only for the channels they actually watch. For those who missed the initial wave, the wait is over — the plans are now fully accessible to everyone.

A Long Time Coming

YouTube TV first announced the changes to its tier system back in December, and went into further detail in its annual newsletter in January, confirming that it would be lifting its all-or-nothing subscription plan in 2026.Previously, YouTube TV offered a single Base Plan at $82.99 a month covering 100-plus channels across every genre. That all-inclusive approach worked for some households, but for anyone who primarily watched sports, or only cared about entertainment and lifestyle content, it meant paying for dozens of channels they never touched.

The initiative allows subscribers to avoid paying for channels they rarely watch while still retaining popular features like unlimited cloud DVR storage, multiview for simultaneous watching, and support for multiple household accounts.

How to Access the New Plans

Finding the new plans is straightforward. New customers visiting the YouTube TV homepage can select “Explore More Plans” to browse and sign up for whichever tier fits their viewing habits. Current subscribers who want to make the switch can do so through their account settings, where they will find the option to change their plan without needing to cancel or create a new account.

What the New Plans Offer

There are now 12 plans to choose from, all priced below the existing Base Plan, which remains available for those who want everything.

The most-requested plan is the Sports tier, which costs $64.99 per month for existing users and $54.99 per month for new customers for the first year, after which the price increases to $64.99. The sports package includes all the major broadcast networks — ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC — as well as sports networks FS1, NBC Sports Network, and all of the ESPN networks, including ESPN Unlimited coming in the fall of 2026.

Sports lovers who want to stay updated on current events can opt for the Sports and News Plan at $71.99 a month. This plan lets users tune in to the same sports programming available with the Sports Plan while also watching national news networks like Fox, CNN, and CNBC.

For those who want to enjoy shows and movies, the Entertainment Plan is available for $54.99 a month, including channels such as Comedy Central, Paramount, the Food Network, and HGTV. This is also the biggest savings off the main plan, dropping $28 below the standard price.

Families will appreciate the News, Entertainment, and Family Plan, which includes news and entertainment programming alongside family-friendly channels such as the Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon for $69.99 a month.

New users of the Sports and News, Entertainment, and News, Entertainment, and Family plans receive special introductory discount pricing for the first three months before the pricing increases to the regular rate.

Features Remain Intact

One concern for subscribers considering a downgrade has been whether the cheaper tiers would come with reduced functionality. That is not the case. Subscribers who sign up for one of the new plans have access to all the product features offered on YouTube TV, including unlimited DVR, the ability to add up to six members on one account, and key plays and multiview. Customers on the cheaper plans can also purchase add-ons such as NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone, HBO Max, and 4K Plus.

A Shift in the Streaming Landscape

By offering these lower-priced tiers, YouTube TV aims to retain existing subscribers and attract new ones who might otherwise cut the cord or switch providers.

The main YouTube TV base plan remains available at $82.99 per month, providing access to more than 100 channels across all genres for those who prefer the all-in-one approach. But for the millions of viewers who have long felt they were overpaying for content they never watched, these new plans represent a genuine and overdue shift — and they are now available to everyone.
