YouTube TV has officially launched its highly anticipated customizable Multiview feature, transforming how subscribers watch live television. This innovative upgrade allows users to build their own Multiview experience, selecting up to four channels from a diverse lineup including local channels, sports networks, news outlets, and more. The feature, now available across smart TVs and streaming devices, marks a significant leap forward in personalized live TV viewing, catering to sports fans, news enthusiasts, and multitaskers alike.
Here is a short video showing how this new build your own multiview works:
To access this new feature, subscribers can start watching any eligible channel on their streaming player or smart TV, press down on their remote, and select the Multiview option. From there, users are presented with two choices: pick from a selection of premade Multiview combinations or build a custom Multiview by choosing between two and four channels to display simultaneously on a single screen. This flexibility allows viewers to create a tailored viewing experience, whether they want to monitor local news on ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC, catch live sports on ESPN or FS1, stay updated with CNN or MSNBC, or mix in entertainment channels like Bravo or USA.
The customizable Multiview builds on YouTube TV’s earlier Multiview offerings, which debuted in 2023 primarily for sports events like March Madness. Initially limited to preselected channel combinations, the feature has evolved significantly. Recent upgrades include a smart recommendation system that analyzes viewing habits to suggest personalized Multiview combinations. For example, a subscriber watching the Golf Channel might be offered options blending ESPN, local news, and entertainment networks.
The rollout, which began with a limited test on Roku devices in early June 2025, is now available to all YouTube TV subscribers. The company plans to expand the channel lineup further, with additional local and national channels expected to be integrated in the coming months. This move strengthens YouTube TV’s position as a leading live TV streaming service, offering over 100 channels, unlimited DVR, and support for multiple user profiles, all for $82.99 per month.
Social media reactions on platforms like X highlight the excitement, with users calling the feature “unbelievably clutch” for events like the 2025 NFL season. As YouTube TV continues to refine and expand Multiview, it’s clear this feature is set to redefine how viewers engage with live television.
