YouTube TV Subscribers Now Get 30-Day Free Trial of STARZ

STARZ and YouTube have announced a new partnership that will give YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channel subscribers a 30-day free trial of STARZ’s premium content library. This promotion, running through April, is available to both new and existing YouTube TV and Primetime Channel subscribers and marks a first-of-its-kind offer for YouTube TV. The collaboration follows a recently extended multi-year agreement between the two companies, which includes bundles and other new offers.

This promotion aims to introduce STARZ’s extensive library of original series and hit films to a broader audience. During the 30-day trial, subscribers can access popular STARZ content, including the critically acclaimed drama “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which debuts its fourth season on March 7th, the thriller “The Couple Next Door,” and all seven seasons of the fan-favorite series “Outlander,” starring Sam Heughan. The STARZ library also boasts a wide selection of blockbuster movies, such as “John Wick: Chapter 4,” “Borderlands,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

The timing of the promotion coincides with several major televised events, giving subscribers access to a wealth of entertainment beyond the STARZ offerings. The 30-day trial window includes the Super Bowl, NBA All-Star Weekend, the start of the MLB season, the Academy Awards, March Madness, and the beginning of the NBA playoffs. This combination of premium movies and series from STARZ alongside major live sporting events and awards shows makes the offer particularly attractive.

“As STARZ continues to adapt to the needs of our customers in this rapidly changing digital landscape, strategic partnerships, like this one with YouTube TV, allow us to expand our reach by introducing our premium content to new audiences,” said Alison Hoffman, President of STARZ Networks. “We are excited to have YouTube’s support to ensure their customers see the value of this offer just in time for the Super Bowl. This promotion further highlights the strength of the STARZ brand as a complementary service.”

YouTube TV, with over 8 million subscribers, is a subscription streaming service offering live and on-demand television from more than 100 channels. Subscribers can access local and national live sports, breaking news, shows, movies, and more on various devices, including phones, tablets, TVs, and computers. YouTube TV offers features like unlimited cloud DVR storage, multiview capabilities, the ability to view key sports plays, spoiler hiding, and real-time stats.

YouTube Primetime Channels allows viewers to subscribe to and watch content from their favorite streaming services directly within the YouTube app. With over 45 channels available, users can easily browse, subscribe, and watch their preferred shows, movies, sports, and other content without switching between multiple apps. This consolidated approach simplifies subscription management and content access.

The partnership between STARZ and YouTube leverages the strengths of both platforms. STARZ gains access to YouTube’s vast subscriber base, while YouTube TV and Primetime Channel subscribers benefit from a free trial of STARZ’s premium programming. This collaboration reflects the evolving landscape of streaming entertainment, where partnerships and bundled offerings are becoming increasingly common as companies seek to attract and retain subscribers in a competitive market. The 30-day free trial provides a low-risk opportunity for viewers to explore the STARZ library and decide if the service is a valuable addition to their entertainment options. The promotion also highlights the growing trend of integrating streaming services within larger platforms like YouTube, streamlining the viewing experience and simplifying content discovery.
