YouTube TV Subscribers Gain Free Access to Fox One Streaming, But ESPN Unlimited Remains Out of Reach

Starting today YouTube TV subscribers will now receive free access to Fox One, the newly launched streaming service from Fox Corporation, at no additional cost. However, the same cannot be said for ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer streaming platform, ESPN Unlimited, leaving some subscribers disappointed as they navigate the evolving landscape of live sports streaming.

YouTube TV customers can log into the ESPN app and get live ESPN channels form their TV packages. But exclusive ESPN Unlimited features like WWE or AI generated Sports Center content is not available to YouTube TV customers.

Fox One, which debuted today, offers a robust lineup of live sports, news, and entertainment, including NFL and college football games on Fox, FS1, FS2, Big Ten Network, and Fox Deportes, alongside news from Fox News, Fox Business, and local Fox affiliates. Priced at $19.99 per month for non-subscribers, Fox One is now accessible to YouTube TV subscribers through their existing credentials, mirroring the authentication model previously used for the Fox Now app. This move integrates Fox One seamlessly into YouTube TV’s platform, which already includes over 100 channels for $82.99 per month, enhancing value for subscribers seeking live sports and news without additional fees. The inclusion of Fox One is a strategic win for YouTube TV, as it strengthens its appeal to sports fans with content like NFL on Fox and MLB World Series broadcasts, all while maintaining its unlimited cloud DVR and multi-device streaming capabilities.

In contrast, ESPN Unlimited, also launched today, is not included for YouTube TV subscribers, creating a gap for those hoping for a comprehensive sports streaming solution. Priced at $29.99 per month, ESPN Unlimited offers access to ESPN’s full suite of channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, and ESPN Deportes, along with exclusive content like WWE live events and personalized features such as “SportsCenter for You.” While subscribers to select pay TV providers like Spectrum, Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, and DirecTV can access ESPN Unlimited at no extra cost by linking their credentials, YouTube TV has not yet secured a similar authentication deal with Disney, ESPN’s parent company. According to industry reports, ongoing negotiations between Disney and YouTube TV have delayed integration, with no immediate timeline for resolution. This means YouTube TV subscribers must pay the full $29.99 monthly fee to access ESPN Unlimited, a frustration for those already accustomed to ESPN’s linear channels through their base subscription.

To access Fox One just login with your YouTube TV account under providers.
