YouTube TV Rolls Out 60 FPS on More Channels & Devices

Last year YouTube TV started rolling out 60 frames per second (FPS) support on a handful of devices such as the Chromecast Ultra and a few channels. Now it looks like they are rolling out 60 FPS to new channels and devices.

So what is FPS? Frames per second (FPS) tells you how many times the image on your screen is refreshed every second. The more frames, the smoother the image looks. For a scripted drama, 30 FPS will look great; however, for faster action such as sports, many want 60 FPS so the action looks smooth on the screen.

As best we can tell 60 FPS is being rolled out to new channels such as the MLB Network and NBC Regional Sports Networks. This should make watching sports on YouTube TV a much more enjoyable experience.

YouTube TV also seems to have added 60 FPS support to the Apple TV and select Roku devices.
