If you are currently on a Base Plan promotional price or a trial, that promotion is still honored and unchanged.‌We will also be lowering the price of our 4K Plus add-on from $19.99/month to $9.99/month. Users new to 4K Plus are eligible for a $4.99/month for 12 months promotional offer.* For existing users, if you are on a promotional price below $10/month, you’ll enjoy that price until the promotional period is over, at which point you’ll automatically receive the new price of $9.99/month. For now, Cord Cutters News can not confirm this news, but this would be the first price hike since June 2021. With cable TV prices going up and most major streaming services raising their price, it is likely past due for YouTube TV also to raise their price.

According to reports, YouTube will announce the price change this week. New customers will pay the new price starting April 6th, and existing customers will pay the new price on their next bill after April 18th, 2023.

Recently it was reported that the average cable TV package now costs, with all fees and taxes, $217.42 a month. Even with a $50 T-Mobile home internet package, YouTube TV at $72.99 will be far cheaper than cable TV.

Recently, we learned with the newly increased Comcast fees, an Xfinity customer with two TV boxes could easily end up paying over $800 a year in fees in 2023.

Recently YouTube TV has announced multiple new features, including NFL Sunday Ticket and multi-view. These additions could be part of the reason YouTube TV is going up in cost.

Cord Cutters News has reached out to Google for comment and will update this story as we learn more.

If you are looking for something cheaper, Hulu with Live TV starts at $69.99 and includes Hulu’s on-demand content.
