Father curled up on the sofa with his two daughters. They are watching a movie with popcorn.Yesterday we got an early look at YouTube TV’s plans to improve their service. Today they made it official.

Starting today YouTube TV has added TNT, Adult Swim, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies. They will also be adding sports networks such as NBA TV, MLB Network, and you will be able to subscribe to add-on services like NBA League Pass.

This makes YouTube TV a far better pick for NBA fans, for example, who need channels like TBS and NBA TV. The addition of the MLB Network and TBS makes YouTube TV a far better fit for MLB fans. Add in the regional sports networks YouTube TV has, and you suddenly have a very interesting sports service for many Americans.

YouTube TV will also be rolling out in new markets including Lexington, Dayton, Honolulu, El Paso, Burlington, Plattsburgh, Richmond, Petersburg, Mobile, Syracuse, Champaign, Springfield, Columbia, Charleston, Harlingen, Wichita, Wilkes-Barre, and Scranton.

The downside is that starting March 14, 2018, new subscribers will pay $40 a month. From the best we can tell, current subscribers will continue to pay $35 a month.

This is breaking news we will update the story as we learn more.

Correction: Earlier the story said the price hike would happen in February. The correct date is March 14th 2018.
