YouTube TV Now Streams NBA League Pass at a Higher Resolution

Traditionally NBA League Pass streams their games at 720p 30 FPS, an okay quality. Now YouTube TV is offering NBA League Pass at 1080p 60 FPS. YouTube TV has slowly been adding more channels to their 60 FPS lineup. Now every channel on YouTube TV streams at 60 FPS if your device supports it: not only their traditional channels but also add-ons like NBA League Pass.

What is FPS? Frames per second (FPS) tells you how many times the image on your screen is refreshed every second. The more frames, the smoother the image looks. For a scripted drama, 30 FPS will look great; however, for faster action, such as sports, 60 FPS makes the action look smoother on screen.

Not all devices support 60 FPS for YouTube TV. Currently, YouTube TV supports 60 FPS on the Chromecast Ultra, Nvidia Shield, Apple TV, iOS, some Roku devices, and a few smart TVs.

Look for features like 60 FPS to become more popular as streaming services fight to stand out in a crowded market.
