What is FPS? Frames per second (FPS) tells you how many times the image on your screen is refreshed every second. The more frames, the smoother the image looks. For a scripted drama, 30 FPS will look great; however, for faster action, such as sports, 60 FPS makes the action look smoother on screen.
Not all devices support 60 FPS for YouTube TV. Currently, YouTube TV supports 60 FPS on the Chromecast Ultra, Nvidia Shield, Apple TV, iOS, some Roku devices, and a few Smart TVs.
As best I can tell YouTube TV is the first live streaming service to offer all their channels at 60 FPS. (Possibly a few locals may still not be streaming at 60 FPS, but in our area ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC all stream at 60 FPS.)
Other streaming services also offer 60 FPS, but YouTube TV is the only service with every channel at 60 FPS. Did I miss a service that does this? Leave a comment and let me know.
