YouTube TV No Longer Lets You Subscribe Through iTunes But it Still Works on iPhones, iPads, & The Apple TV

youtube tv logoOne of the main complaints about YouTube TV was the fact that if you subscribed through iTunes you had to pay $5 more a month compared to subscribing on the YouTube TV website. This was done by YouTube TV to cover the fees Apple puts on subscriptions through iTunes. Over the summer, YouTube ended support for subscribing through iTunes and iOS.

The good news is if you are already subscribed you can stay subscribed through iTunes. All new subscribers though will need to subscribe at TV.YouTube.com and then enter their user name and password to log into the YouTube TV app on iPhones, iPads, and the Apple TV. This may be a little more complicated than some want but doing this will save you $60 every year.

Recently with the start of fall TV this seems to have confused some new subscribers who tried to resubscribe to YouTube TV through iTunes so they could watch the new shows. The good news is you can still watch YouTube TV on your favorite Apple device you just can’t create a new account through the YouTube TV app on iOS and the Apple TV.

If you are still paying for YouTube TV through iTunes, you may want to consider switching over to paying directly to YouTube. Sadly, to do that you need to cancel your account and resign up through TV.YouTube.com.
