YouTube TV is More Popular Than DIRECTV NOW, PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, & More According to Tivo

Cheerful family having popcorn while watching television at homeThis week Tivo announced their 4th quarter 2018 report on the current state of TV. Part of this study looked at the most popular streaming services including live TV streaming services. According to that study, YouTube TV is now the most popular live TV streaming services with 11.9% of their subscribers using the service.

YouTube TV beat out Hulu live at 6.9%, DIRECTV NOW at 6.3% PlayStation Vue at 4.4% and Sling TV at 3.2%.

Now live TV streaming services still lag far behind Netflix at 50.4% and Amazon Prime Video at 21.8%. YouTube TV did beat out Hulu on Demand that only had 9.5% of the vote.

Other notable services included CBS All Access at 5.2% and Showtime on Demand at 4.1% along with Starz on Demand at 3.6%.

Overall 69.3% of Americans according to this study pay for a streaming service compared to just 30.7% who do not use a streaming service. Slowly streaming services are becoming a major part of the American TV experience.
